Ankit Dhall is a computer vision and machine learning expert working at the ETH Spin-Off Seervision. Before, he was affiliated with the Institute for Machine Learning, Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich.
Ankit Dall gained his master’s degree in Computer Science (Robotics, Systems and Control) from ETH Zurich in autumn 2019.
Besides his master studies, he was the Head of Perception at Academic Motorsport Association of Zurich (AMZ) for the Formula Student Driverless, Season 2019. In 2018, he contributed to the computer vision package at AMZ Racing for the driverless competition.
Earlier, he worked as a research intern at nuTonomy, Singapore, where he was focusing on safety-critical perception for autonomous driving.
From March 2019 to October 2019 Ankit was part of the team at ETH Library Lab. As Innovator Fellow he held responsible for the ETH Library Lab project “Automated Insect Recognition”.
The project followed a data-driven approach by applying machine learning to a comprehensive image data set of the ETH Entomological Collection in order to build an automated species-identification system.
His research was part of his master thesis on “Hierarchical Image Classification using Entailment Cone Embeddings” under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Krause’s “Learning & Adaptive Systems Group” at ETH Zurich.
