Parker Ewen studies at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering of ETH Zurich and holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering of the McGill University, Canada.
Besides his studies, Parker gained first work experience as trainee in the fields of mechanical design, mechanical engineering and thermodynamics. Most recently he worked at ANYbotics, an ETH spin-off that is developing mobile robotics for industrial applications. There he designed actuator protectors and prototyped various components for the ANYmal platform.
At ETH Library Lab, Parker is responsible for the project InDexDa. The project combines the research fields machine learning and natural language processing. The main purpose of the project is to create an index of datasets, allowing researchers to spend less time searching for relevant data for their projects and more time implementing their research ideas. To accomplish this, the index of datasets will offer easy-to-use search features as well as intuitive research topic/field groupings.
