Nivetha Kanakaraj earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications and a master’s degree in applied electronics. She completed her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM).
During the course of her research study, she worked at the Biophotonics Lab of IITM. There she developed a bimodal spectral imaging setup for in vivo pre-clinical applications, fabricated novel tissue equivalent phantoms and conducted modeling and simulation studies of light tissue interactions.
Before that, she worked as an assistant professor at the National Institute of Technology Puducherry where she gained valuable expertise in teaching course works and conducting lab sessions to undergraduate students and served up for various functional activities.
At ETH Library Lab she is leading a foresight project. She will explore potential developments in science and research in the next 10 to 15 years and their impact on scientific libraries.
The project work is conducted with methodical support from the Strategic Development team at ETH Zurich.
