Luise Arn is currently enrolled in the fast track program at the Department of Informatics at the University of Zurich. In her master studies, she is majoring in data science with a focus on machine learning techniques and their application.
For her Ph.D. at the People and Computing Lab, she is dedicating her studies to the communication of data science with stories.
Having a background in management and economics, Luise is an active member of the startup community in Zurich and a supporter of diversity in research as well as in the workplace. She has worked for the chair of Special Education with Focus on Society, Participation, and Disability and volunteered for an LGBTI+ mentoring organization.
At the ETH Library Lab, Luise investigates with her project Data’s Stories the current difficulties of communicating data science knowledge in the public sector. Her aim is to foster smart and robust innovation by introducing stories as communication tools to increase the explainability of data science applications. Her academic advisor is professor Elaine M. Huang from the People and Computing Lab at the University of Zurich.
