Mengqi is a data science master student focusing on computer vision and machine learning. She is interested in employing deep learning and model-based approaches in image analysis and 3D visions in mixed reality.
Mengqi graduated from Columbia University, New York with a M.S. in Actuarial Science and worked in San Francisco as an actuarial analyst before leaving in 2019 to join the data science program at the University of Zurich.
During her study in Zürich, she was also a research assistant at ETH Computer Vision and Geometry Group where she worked on egocentric 3D interaction recognition using HoloLens2. She is also an art lover and enjoys visiting art museums for traditional oil paintings. Her motivation is to combine art and computer science together.
At ETH Library Lab, she will work on the open imageSearch project, AI for art collections in cloth collaboration with the Graphische Sammlung. This content-based image search tool aims to facilitate artwork identification and support their digitization processes.
