Nadya Suvorovas work as artist and designer emerges at the intersection of art and science. She is interested in the role that the human plays in discovering and shaping nature, seeking not only to explore this relationship but to challenge and shift our perspective regarding our environment.
Nadya Suvorova has gained her Master of Arts in Media Design from the Geneva University of Art and Design. In her artistic practice, she regularly collaborates with scientists and interdisciplinary teams.
In the Accelerate@CERN artistic research residency, she was investigating the potential of visualising matter at different scales together with game designer Mario von Rickenbach. She continued this research in the Swissnex San Francisco Science Studio fellowship and developed storytelling scenarios involving the exploration of different scales in an interactive documentary called MIKMA.
In 2018, Nadya took part in the artists-in-labs residency program (ZHdK) at the Division for Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Science and Engineering of KAUST University.
Nadya has exhibited her work at museums and institutions worldwide, including the ZKM Karlsruhe in Germany; Cité du Design in Saint Etienne; Museum of Arts (MoA) in Seoul, Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
At the ETH Library Lab she works together with Mario von Rickenbach on their project “Material Reality“. The project aims to give a wider perspective and educate students and young professionals about the role of materials in the global resource ecosystem in a playful and motivating way.
